Abstract:

Employee Engagement is connected with wellness.  Many aspects of wellness are based on the ability of an individual to have a greater understanding of one’s work role.  Reflection and having access to tools that contribute to clarity also form specific parts of many wellness programs.  While certain aspects of wellness are dependent upon the choices of individuals, many organizations are able to offer programs that facilitate wellness and employee engagement.  Employee Engagement is not just about retention and incentives.  Areas of opportunity, weaknesses, and past shortcomings are also important within the spectrum of employee engagement.  For many organizations, employee engagement occurs across the organization and not just within HR departments.  Analysis is often required that reveals areas for organizational improvement.

Abstract:

Behavioral economics informs the planning and strategy of many organizations and businesses. There are conservative views of the free market as well as libertarian views of the free market.  Such distinctions are not necessarily political distinctions. Belief can have a profound impact upon decision-making.  Belief is not necessarily religious, yet it has an impact - how one may interact within a free market. Belief is a major component of the market for considerations beyond price and profit.  Certain items are included in the free market but are deemed as basic needs by some for members within a society.  Providing for some within society or allowing opportunity is either seen as an aspect of the free market or an offshoot of the free market.  A conservative or libertarian view may impact notions of regulation, what items are sold in a free market, wealth creation, and wealth accumulation.

The free market is dynamic.  Specialization and choice are components of the free market.  Various business models exist.  A viable organization has certain areas of approach towards those within and outside the organization.  Insights from behavioral economics are increasingly beneficial in business and organizational leverage.  This is a means of legitimately working towards goals and improvements.  “Business focus and the implementation of strategy from behavioral economics assist in delivering momentum when encountering subtle yet pervasive blues, reduced customer experience and sentiment, a shooing away of customers, and the subsequent lack of gains from minimizing business leverage utilization.”

Brent Stackhouse will run in the Spencer C. Duncan Make It Count 5K benefiting Veterans.  The 5K will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the New Century AirCenter (One New Century Parkway, New Century, KS 66031) in Johnson County (between Olathe and Gardner). 

"In 1941, county-owned land located in southwest Johnson County was dedicated to the former Federal Civil Aeronautics Authority for an auxiliary airport.  Construction was underway when World War II broke out in December 1941, and the land was sold to the Navy for the construction of the Olathe Naval Air Station.... In 1970, the United States Navy de-commissioned the Olathe Naval Air Station as an active Navy installation.... Today, New Century AirCenter is the fifth busiest airfield in the State of Kansas."
